This is a 1941 pair of Tabby Night Vision Binoculars and are known to be the only pair to make it back to NZ from North Africa in 1944. They were then placed in Store but were never reissued. They were fitted on a NZRTC M3A1 Stuart (Honey)Tank during the Libyan Campaign crewed by a family member. These binos were also to be found on a few desert soft skin vehicles and have seen a pic of one fitted to a LRDG Jeep.
